Privacy Policy

Call Memory ("the app") is published by Hugo Software ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It is short because the app collects almost nothing.
The short version
Everything you write in Call Memory stays on your phone. We never receive it, we cannot read it, and we cannot recover it. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no trackers. If you buy a subscription, Google Play handles the payment.
What you put into the app
You create the content yourself: call notes, the people you add by hand, follow-ups, your own follow-up buttons, and your chosen interface language. An unsaved draft of a note is also kept on the phone until you save or discard it.
All of it is stored in the app's local storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no cloud sync.
Because there is no server copy, we as the developer have no way to see, access, export, or restore your notes.
Android backup
From version 1.2, Android's device backup and device-to-device transfer are turned off for this app, so your notes do not leave the phone that way.
Versions before 1.2 left Android's backup setting on. On those versions, if you have device backup turned on, Android itself could include the app's data in your own backup. We never have access to that backup.
Backup files you make yourself
From version 1.2 you can save your notes to a file (Settings → Save notes to a file) and restore them later. The file is created only when you ask for it, and it goes only where you choose to send it through Android's share window. The file is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe. We never receive it.
Notifications
From version 1.2, the app can remind you on the day a follow-up is due. This is optional. The app asks once, the first time you add a follow-up, and you can change your mind in Settings.
Reminders are set on the phone itself, with no server involved. A notification shows only the person's name and the number of follow-ups, never the text of your note. If your phone shows notifications on the lock screen, that name can be seen there.
What the app does not access
Call Memory does not:
- read your device call log or call history
- read your phone contacts
- record calls or audio
- use the microphone on Android
- use the camera, your location, or your photos
- collect an advertising identifier
People shown inside the app are the ones you typed in yourself, plus clearly marked sample data on first launch. They are not imported from your phone.
Accounts
There are none. You do not sign up, log in, or give us an email address to use the app.
Third-party services
The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party trackers.
The app's network requests
The app makes exactly two kinds of network request:
- Configuration. At launch the app fetches a small settings file from
https://hq.bnj.app/api/v1/config/callmemory. This request is read-only and sends no personal data and no identifiers. If your device is offline, the app works without it. As with any web request, the server may briefly record the requesting IP address in standard access logs for security and abuse prevention. These logs are not linked to any user and are not used to track anyone. - Google Play Billing. The app asks Google Play for subscription prices and for whether your subscription is active, and sends purchases to Google Play. Google handles this under its own privacy policy. We receive no name, email address, or card details from the app.
Permissions
The app declares these Android permissions:
INTERNET, for the two requests abovecom.android.vending.BILLINGandACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, for Google Play purchases
From version 1.2, it also declares the following, used only for follow-up notifications:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS, to show a reminder, requested only if you choose to get remindersRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDandWAKE_LOCK, so a reminder you set still arrives after the phone restarts
How long data is kept
Your notes stay on your device until you delete them in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Any backup file you saved yourself stays yours to keep or delete. Since we hold no copy, deletion is entirely in your hands.
Children
Call Memory is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. You control your data directly on your device. See our data removal page for details.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
