What Call Memory is for
After an important call, you have about thirty seconds before the details start fading. Call Memory is where you put them. Write a short note, attach it to the person, and add a follow-up if you promised something. Before you call them again, open their page and everything is there.
Common questions
Does it show my notes when someone calls?
No. The app does not see your calls. You open it and look at the person's page before you call back, or when you want to prepare.
Does it record my calls?
No. Call Memory never records calls or audio, and it does not ask for microphone access on Android. You write the notes yourself, after the call.
Does it read my call log or my contacts?
No. It has no access to either. The people inside the app are the ones you add by hand.
Who are the people I see on first launch?
Sample data, so you can see how the app works. They are not real and they do not come from your phone. Tap Clear on the "Sample data" line to remove them. Your own notes stay.
Where are my notes stored?
Only on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, so no one else, including us, can read them.
Can I move my notes to a new phone?
Yes, from version 1.2. Go to Settings → Save notes to a file, keep the file somewhere safe, then use Settings → Restore from a file on the new phone. Restoring adds what is missing and removes nothing.
Can I get my notes back after uninstalling?
Only if you saved a backup file first. Nothing is stored on a server, so we cannot restore them.
Will my notes sync between my phone and another device?
No. Each device keeps its own notes. A backup file is the way to copy them across.
Can I fix a mistake in a note?
Yes, from version 1.2. Open the person and tap the pencil next to the note. The note keeps its original date. The pencil at the top of the page edits the person's name, phone number and type.
I closed the note by accident. Is it gone?
No, from version 1.2. The unsaved draft comes back when you open a new note. Tap Discard if you do not want it.
How do reminders work?
When you save a note you can attach a follow-up. On its due date it appears on the home screen under "Call today". From version 1.2 you can also get a notification at 9:00 that day. The app asks the first time you add a follow-up, and you can turn it on or off in Settings → Follow-up notifications.
A notification arrived late or did not arrive.
Check that notifications are allowed for Call Memory in Android settings. Battery-saving settings on some phones can delay reminders. The follow-up always shows inside the app on its due date.
What does search look through?
People, phone numbers, notes and follow-ups.
Why can't I dictate a note by voice?
Voice dictation is not available in the Android version. Notes are typed.
What languages does the app support?
English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Arabic. From version 1.2, also Russian, Japanese and Korean. Tap the globe at the top right, or use Settings → Language.
Is it free? Are there ads?
There are no ads. Your first 20 notes are free, with no time limit. Call Memory Premium is an optional subscription for unlimited notes. The price is shown in the app and on Google Play before you confirm.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or from version 1.2 in the app under Settings → Manage subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
I paid but Premium is not on.
Tap Restore purchase in the payment screen or, from version 1.2, in Settings, using the same Google account. If the app says it could not reach Google Play, check your connection and try again. Your subscription has not been lost. Refunds are handled by Google.
